Discover How Your Cats Mating Can Cost You Money - II

One of the natural things that come along with Gert’s cycle is the natural instinct for cats mating. You may well open your front door to leave for work and she will shoot out that front door like a bullet. If you haven’t noticed every feral cat, neighbors cat and even “Ol” Roscoe, the cat from across town, has been waiting on her “Queenship” to get out the door.

Chances are all those male cats have been hanging around several days. Go take a look at your lawn and look at all the burn spots from their urine and feces. You know cats like to urinate and defecate in the same place or as near to it as they can get. Now not only do you have a pregnant cat on your hands, but a ruined lawn or flower beds. Once again you can be looking at a major expense getting your lawn back into pristine condition.

It is possible, even though unlikely, that the problem of so many cats invading one neighborhood could affect the actual real estate value of your home or your neighbors; if they hang around long enough. “Well thanks for the added problem.” You say. “What’s the solution?” You ask.

The most obvious and perhaps the cheapest way would be to get rid of Gert. But most cat lovers would rather get rid of their hubby before they give up their beloved feline. And you fall in that category, don’t you? So here’s the alternative.

If you are against spaying your beautiful Gert, check with her vet about going on chemical birth control. The vet will know what’s available and if she is a good candidate for “chemical birth control”. Your vet may also suggest having her tubes tied as another alternative to spaying.

There is one last thought you need to think about before you go get Gert fixed. If you don’t you are going to have a houseful of kittens. Yes, they are beautiful and very easy to fall in love with. But, you talk about another expense. It’s not just food, but increased damage to the house and the very real possibility of increased vet bills.

Unfortunately, the majority of humane societies and other pet organizations won’t take them off your hand unless you pay for them being fixed. You also know it wouldn’t be right to dump them on the street and let them fend for themselves. The cheapest and easiest way out of this would have been if you had had Gert fixed to start off with.

But since you didn’t ask your vet or local pet clinic for a substantial discount on the cost of getting all the kittens fixed at once. You will have contributed to the well being of the new kittens and you can feel good about helping to control the pet population. Oh yes! There is one other alternative, you file a paternity suit against Gerts suitor Roscoe.

Cats mating should be the least of your problems in today’s complicated world, but since you love Gert it is part of your complicated world. Having her spayed is still one of the cheapest and safest ways to cut your losses caused by cats mating.

By the way Roscoe was grinning ear to ear when he left your yard.
